Aigle Azur was a French airline headquartered in Paris that operated scheduled passenger services primarily across the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Africa from 1946 until its collapse in 2019. The carrier was a full-service airline offering economy and business class cabins on its network, with main hubs at Paris Orly and Paris Charles de Gaulle airports, serving destinations including Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, and other North African and Middle Eastern markets. Though not part of any major global alliance, Aigle Azur maintained codeshare partnerships with various carriers and operated a frequent flyer program for its passengers. The airline, which was family-owned for much of its history, struggled with competition from larger European carriers and low-cost airlines in the budget-conscious North African market. Aigle Azur ceased all operations in September 2019 following a period of financial difficulties and operational challenges, marking the end of its seven-decade history in European aviation.
