Adria Airways was a Slovenian airline headquartered in Ljubljana that operated as the country's flagship carrier from its founding in 1986 until its collapse in 2019. The airline primarily conducted scheduled passenger operations on regional routes connecting Slovenia and the Balkans to major European hubs, with bases in Ljubljana and Maribor. Adria Airways was a member of Star Alliance and offered a two-cabin configuration with business and economy classes, supported by its frequent flyer program Adria Plus. As a regional full-service carrier, the airline served as an important connection point for Central European and Balkan passengers, operating both independently and through code-share partnerships with larger Star Alliance members. The airline faced mounting financial difficulties in its final years, ultimately ceasing all operations and filing for insolvency in September 2019, ending more than three decades of service to the region.
