
The AgustaWestland ICH-47F Chinook is a license-built variant of Boeing's CH-47F heavy-lift helicopter, representing Italy's modernization of its rotorcraft capabilities. First flown on June 24, 2013, it is a twin-rotor tandem helicopter powered by two Honeywell T55-GA-714A turboshaft engines producing 4,868 shaft horsepower each, capable of transporting 33-55 troops or 26,000 pounds of cargo. With dual 60-foot rotors and an overall length of 98 feet, the ICH-47F was manufactured by AgustaWestland at their Vergiate plant in northern Italy.
