Operating as a full-service carrier, Air Maldives offered economy and business class seating on its regional routes. The airline ceased operations in 2011 due to financial difficulties, ending decades of service as the nation's primary international airline. Its operations were eventually succeeded by other carriers serving the Maldivian market.
