
The Dornier 228, a versatile twin-turboprop utility aircraft designed for short takeoff and landing operations, emerged as a successful solution for regional transport and specialized missions. First flown on March 28, 1981, it was a high-wing twin-engine aircraft accommodating up to 19 passengers or equivalent cargo loads. Measuring over 54 feet in length with excellent short-field performance capabilities, it was manufactured by Dornier GmbH of Germany.
