The Rogerson-Hiller UH-12E3T Raven represented a turbine-powered evolution of the classic Hiller UH-12 light helicopter series, originally designed by Stanley Hiller Jr. in the late 1940s. The prototype first flew around 1948-1949, establishing a foundation that would eventually support turbine conversions decades later. This single-engine turboshaft helicopter typically accommodated a pilot plus two to three passengers in its compact cabin. With a rotor diameter of 35 feet and powered by an Allison 250-C20B turboshaft engine producing approximately 400 shaft horsepower, the UH-12E3T offered improved performance over its piston-powered predecessors. Rogerson Aircraft Corporation manufactured this variant after acquiring Hiller helicopter rights in 1984.
