The Learjet 45, a super-light business jet that marked Learjet's first completely new design since 1963, revolutionized the company's manufacturing approach through extensive computer-aided design and automated production. First flown on October 7, 1995, it was a low-wing twin-engine turbofan that could accommodate nine passengers in a flat-floor cabin measuring 19.8 feet long. Powered by twin Garrett TFE731-20 engines, the aircraft achieved a maximum speed of 533 mph and was manufactured by Learjet Inc., a division of Bombardier Aerospace.
