
The Tecnam P-2008, a modern two-seat training aircraft that pioneered composite construction in light aviation, first flew in September 2008. This high-wing monoplane with fixed tricycle landing gear seats two occupants and is powered by a 100-horsepower Rotax 912ULS engine. With a wingspan of 28 feet 10 inches and cruising speed of 134 mph, it became the aircraft of choice for flight training organizations worldwide. The P-2008 was manufactured by Costruzioni Aeronautiche Tecnam of Italy.
