Ecuatoriana maintained a traditional legacy carrier business model with multiple cabin classes and competed with regional and international carriers serving Ecuadorian markets. The airline ceased operations in 2010 due to financial difficulties and increased competition in the region, marking the end of over five decades of service as Ecuador's primary international airline.
