The ERJ-145EP, a pioneering regional jet that helped transition airlines from turboprops to jets in the late 1990s, first flew in 1995 as part of Embraer's breakthrough ERJ-145 family. This twin-engine turbofan aircraft featured rear-mounted Rolls-Royce AE3007 engines and seated 50 passengers in a three-abreast configuration. With a maximum takeoff weight of 20,990 kg and range of 2,000 nautical miles, it became the backbone of regional aviation. The aircraft was manufactured by Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica S.A. (Embraer) of Brazil.
