The Westland/Aérospatiale Gazelle SA.341B AH.1 was a light observation helicopter that introduced the innovative fenestron shrouded tail rotor design to military aviation. First flown as a prototype in 1970, it was a single-engine turboshaft helicopter that could carry five occupants in scout, transport, and light attack roles. Measuring compact dimensions with a maximum speed of 142 knots and range of 361 nautical miles, it was manufactured by Westland Helicopters under license from Aérospatiale between 1972 and 1983.
