The Denney Kitfox, one of the most successful kit aircraft designs in aviation history, established itself as the quintessential homebuilt sport plane for recreational and bush flying. First flown in November 1984, it was a high-wing, single-engine taildragger that seated two passengers side-by-side with exceptional short takeoff and landing capabilities. Spanning 32 feet with folding wings and weighing just 850 pounds gross in its original configuration, the aircraft could operate from strips as short as 200 feet. More than 7,000 kits have been delivered worldwide by Denney Aerocraft and later SkyStar Aircraft Corporation.
