The AA-1 Lynx, an economical two-seat trainer and personal aircraft, democratized flight training and private aviation during the 1970s with its affordable price point and sporty handling characteristics. First flown in 1968, it was a low-wing, single-engine monoplane that could seat two occupants and featured innovative bonded aluminum construction. Powered by a 108-115 horsepower Lycoming O-235 engine with a cruise speed of 138 mph, the aircraft measured just over 19 feet in length. It was manufactured by Grumman American Aviation Corporation.
