Air Guyane was the flag carrier of French Guiana, founded in 1978 and based in Cayenne, serving as the primary air link between French Guiana and the Caribbean region as well as mainland France. Operating as a regional airline, it primarily conducted passenger services on routes connecting Cayenne with Paris, other French territories, and neighboring Caribbean destinations, with its main hub at Cayenne's Félix Eboué International Airport. The airline was historically part of the Air Caraïbes group and operated regional turboprop and narrow-body aircraft suitable for Caribbean operations. However, Air Guyane ceased independent operations in 2015 when it was fully integrated into Air Caraïbes, which continues to serve the French Guiana market under the Air Caraïbes banner. The airline's demise reflected the challenges facing small regional carriers in maintaining profitability on limited route networks in the Caribbean.
