
The Boeing 737-800, the most successful variant of the Next Generation 737 family, revolutionized narrow-body aviation as the backbone of low-cost carriers worldwide. First flown on July 31, 1997, it was a low-wing twin-engine monoplane powered by CFM56-7B turbofan engines that could seat 162 to 189 passengers.
