The EMBRAER EMB-145XR, a long-range regional jet that helped transform commercial aviation by replacing turboprops with efficient jet service, first flew in its base ERJ-145 configuration on August 11, 1995. This rear-engine, low-wing twin-turbofan aircraft seats 50 passengers in three-abreast configuration and stretches approximately 33 meters in length with a 20-meter wingspan featuring distinctive winglets. Powered by two Rolls-Royce AE 3007 turbofan engines, the XR variant achieves a maximum range of 2,000 nautical miles and cruises at Mach 0.80.
