The Bombardier Challenger 850 was a pioneering super-midsize business jet that innovated the private aviation market by adapting proven commercial airliner technology for luxury VIP transport. First entering service in 2006, it was a low-wing twin-engine aircraft that could accommodate 12-16 passengers in transcontinental comfort. With a wingspan of 69.5 feet and powered by two General Electric CF34-3B1 turbofans producing 8,730 pounds of thrust each, the aircraft achieved cruise speeds of 459 knots and ranges exceeding 2,986 nautical miles.
