
The Bombardier Challenger 850 was a pioneering super-midsize business jet that innovated the private aviation market by adapting proven commercial airliner technology for luxury VIP transport. First entering service in 2006, it was a low-wing twin-engine aircraft that could accommodate 12-16 passengers in transcontinental comfort. With a wingspan of 69.5 feet and powered by two General Electric CF34-3B1 turbofans producing 8,730 pounds of thrust each, the aircraft achieved cruise speeds of 459 knots and ranges exceeding 2,986 nautical miles. The aircraft was manufactured by Bombardier Aerospace until production ended in 2012 after 71 deliveries.
