Interjet was a Mexican low-cost carrier headquartered in Mexico City that operated scheduled passenger flights primarily throughout Mexico and to select destinations in the United States and Central America. Founded in 2010, the airline became one of Mexico's major domestic carriers, serving routes from its main hub at Mexico City International Airport. Interjet offered a single-cabin economy class configuration with a basic low-cost business model emphasizing competitive fares and point-to-point service. The airline ceased operations in December 2020 amid severe financial difficulties exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving numerous passengers stranded and ending a decade of operations in the Mexican aviation market.
