# Polynesian Airlines
Polynesian Airlines was the flag carrier of Samoa, founded in 1959 and headquartered in Apia. The airline operated scheduled passenger services throughout the South Pacific, connecting Samoa to key regional destinations including American Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, and New Zealand, with its main hub at Faleolo International Airport. As a small regional carrier, Polynesian Airlines offered single-class economy seating on its modest fleet and operated both regional turboprop and international jet services. The airline ceased operations in 1995, marking the end of an era for Samoa's national carrier, though the South Pacific region would later see renewed air service through subsequent operators. Polynesian Airlines was historically significant as one of the Pacific region's pioneering airlines during the mid-to-late 20th century.
