First flown on July 31, 1997, it was a low-wing twin-engine monoplane powered by CFM56-7B turbofan engines that could seat 162 to 189 passengers. Measuring 129 feet 6 inches in length with a 117 feet 5 inch wingspan, the aircraft achieved a range of 3,115 nautical miles and was manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
