The American Ranger 1 (AR-1) represents the first modern-style gyroplane manufactured in the United States, entering production in 2016 as a kit aircraft emphasizing safety and forgiving flight characteristics. This pusher-configuration autogyro features tandem seating and can achieve speeds from 25 to 120 mph with takeoff distances as short as 200 feet depending on engine selection. Powered by proven Rotax four-stroke engines ranging from 100 to 141 horsepower, the AR-1 incorporates a high-inertia Stella rotor system and welded stainless-steel airframe construction. SilverLight Aviation manufactures the aircraft at their Zephyrhills, Florida facility.
