Syrian Arab Airlines was the flag carrier of Syria, founded in 1946 and headquartered in Damascus, operating scheduled passenger services throughout the Middle East and to select European destinations. The carrier was a member of the Arab Air Carriers Organization and maintained codeshare agreements with several regional and international airlines. Syrian Arab Airlines suspended most operations following the outbreak of civil conflict in Syria in 2011, with the airline ceasing regular commercial service as the country's aviation infrastructure was severely disrupted.
