Cabo Verde Airlines (Air Cabo Verde) was the flag carrier of Cape Verde, headquartered in Praia and founded in 1995 to provide air transport for the island nation and regional connectivity within West Africa. Operating as a full-service passenger airline, it served destinations across Cape Verde's archipelago as well as routes to neighboring West African countries and Portugal, with Praia International Airport serving as its main hub. The airline was a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and offered economy and business class seating on its regional routes. Facing financial difficulties common to small island carriers, Cabo Verde Airlines ceased operations in 2006, after which TACV Transportes Aéreos de Cabo Verde (the successor entity) took over most of the airline's routes and operations. The airline's closure reflected the challenges of maintaining profitability on thin regional routes with limited passenger demand.
