The European Union Aviation Safety Agency has granted a Supplemental Type Certificate for a seven-blade MT-Propeller on the Piper M700 Fury turboprop single-engine aircraft. Piper Aircraft announced the certification April 14, 2026, during the Sun 'n Fun Aerospace Expo in Lakeland, Florida. The European approval precedes expected Federal Aviation Administration certification for U.S. operators.

Manufactured by Germany-based MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH using advanced composite materials, the factory option enhances aerodynamic efficiency. The upgrade reportedly provides reduced takeoff distance, higher climb rates and quieter cabin noise for passengers and surrounding communities. Marc Ouellet, Piper vice president of engineering and manufacturing, said integrating the propeller underscores a commitment to continuous innovation and customer-driven enhancements.

While European M700 Fury operators can contact regional dealers for installation, domestic customers must await FAA certification expected in the near future. The development positions the M700 Fury competitively against turbine rivals, leveraging MT-Propeller's prior approval history on aircraft such as the Pilatus PC-12. The platform received Flight into Known Icing certification in March 2024, highlighting ongoing upgrades to the airframe.
