Flightradar24 is bringing official live traffic data to consumer flight simulators for the first time through a new partnership with Navigraph, the aviation tracking company announced Wednesday. The initial implementation targets Microsoft Flight Simulator via the FSLTL traffic injector, accessed through Navigraph Unlimited subscriptions.

This development marks a significant shift from unofficial data scraping methods to a licensed pipeline that third-party developers can utilize. According to Navigraph, the feed may eventually integrate with ATC clients and virtual airline systems, expanding possibilities for realistic flight simulation experiences.

The aviation simulation community has welcomed the news as a major upgrade over MSFS's default Live Traffic system, which often suffers from coverage gaps. While questions about latency and performance impact remain, the official data stream represents a substantial improvement in realism for flight simulator enthusiasts.
