Two people were transported to a local hospital in critical condition following a Kissimmee plane crash on the afternoon of June 6. A Cessna 150L, registered as N156KA, crashed in a grassy, heavily vegetated area south of Kissimmee Gateway Airport (KISM) during a private training flight involving pattern work.

Emergency responders from the City of Kissimmee Fire Department and Kissimmee Police Department were dispatched to the scene near South John Young Parkway and West Clay Street at approximately 2:59 p.m. Dense vegetation and limited access complicated rescue efforts, requiring aviation support from the Osceola County Sheriff's Office to pinpoint the wreckage. According to WFTV, a pilot in the area assisted first responders in locating the aircraft.

Investigation Underway

The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration have opened an investigation into the cause of the accident. While the aircraft was reportedly performing pattern work, the specific cause of the crash remains undetermined. General aviation safety experts note that touch-and-go training requires precise engine and airspeed management at low altitudes, leaving a narrow margin for error during mechanical failures.
