Twin Comanche Makes Emergency Landing After Dual Engine Failure in Auburn
Two occupants survived unharmed after a Piper PA-30 Twin Comanche made an emergency landing in Auburn, Washington, following a dual engine failure.
The aircraft, registration N741TJ, lost power in both engines during approach to Auburn Municipal Airport on April 18. Flight tracking data indicates the pilot initially attempted to isolate one engine after a failure occurred south of Highway 18, but both engines subsequently ceased operation over Auburn.
According to flight monitoring records, the aircraft had departed from Eureka, California, at an altitude of approximately 10,500 feet. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the dual engine failure and the sequence of events leading to the emergency landing.
