Emergency Evacuation on Runway

Passengers aboard United Airlines Flight 2092 were forced to evacuate via emergency slides upon landing at Pittsburgh International Airport on Saturday afternoon following a mid-flight security alert. The Boeing 737 Max, en route from Chicago O'Hare to New York LaGuardia, diverted after crew detected a repetitive beeping noise that raised safety concerns, according to United Airlines. All 159 passengers and six crew members disembarked safely onto the tarmac at approximately 11:45 a.m. without injuries, CBS News Pittsburgh reported.

Investigation Finds No Threats

Allegheny County Police Bomb Squad and K-9 units swept the aircraft, luggage and passengers for explosive devices, yielding negative results. The FBI Pittsburgh office confirmed Monday that the security threat was unfounded following interviews with the flight crew and technical sweeps. Passengers later boarded a replacement Boeing 737 departing at 4:24 p.m., arriving in New York approximately 6½ hours delayed.

While the specific source of the beeping noise remains unidentified, aviation experts praised the crew for treating the anomaly as a potential security hazard. Airport operations continued normally following the evacuation and subsequent safety checks.
