Cessna Citation II Overruns Runway in Brazil

A Cessna S550 Citation II, registration PT-WIB, overran runway 18 during landing at Jundiaí-Comandante Rolim Adolfo Amaro State Airport on Sunday. The executive flight arrived from Bragança Paulista without incident to the pilot or passengers, though the aircraft sustained substantial damage and came to rest on an airport service road. According to footage captured by local cameras, the jet excursion occurred around the time of landing.

No fatalities or injuries were reported following the March 15 incident, according to initial reports from the Aviation Safety Network (ASN). The operator, Dubem Business Marketing Eventos e Produções Artísticas Ltda, was conducting an executive flight when the accident took place. Brazilian authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the overrun.

Footage from the scene shows the aircraft leaving the paved runway surface before stopping on a service road. While no injuries were sustained by the occupants, this event marks another instance of substantial damage occurring to business jets during landing excursions at Brazilian airports, following a pattern observed in other Citation II accidents. Preliminary findings will be released by the Brazilian Aviation Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (CENIPA).
