Zero Injuries in Denver Learjet Runway Excursion

DENVER — A Learjet 35A operating for International Jet Aviation Services veered off the left side of runway 17L at Denver Centennial Airport on Wednesday, April 22, without injuring anyone aboard. The aircraft sustained substantial damage during the incident but came to a stop at taxiway A14, aviation-safety.net reported.

Winds Complicate Landing Conditions

The two pilots and two passengers were uninjured in the accident involving registration N817EM. Airport records indicate gusty winds with speeds up to 32 knots during the landing phase near 1500 local time, presenting challenging crosswind conditions on the runway. The aircraft was arriving from Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Missouri.

Investigation Ongoing Amid Safety Alerts

Authorities are investigating the event. This incident occurs shortly after an NTSB safety recommendation following a fatal Learjet landing gear malfunction at Scottsdale Airport earlier this year, though no cause is linked to the Denver excursion at this time. An official report is expected from the National Transportation Safety Board in the coming weeks.
