Six Die in Bombardier Challenger 650 Crash at Bangor International

A Bombardier CL-600-2B16 Challenger 650 crashed during takeoff at Bangor International Airport in Maine on January 25, 2026, killing all six occupants aboard.

The aircraft, registered N10KJ and operated by KTKJ Challenger LLC for Arnold & Itkin, veered off Runway 33 during the takeoff attempt, inverted, and caught fire. All six occupants perished and the aircraft was destroyed.

According to reports, the aircraft had undergone de-icing procedures prior to the attempted takeoff.

ADS-B data shows the Challenger 650 had arrived at Bangor International at 6:09 p.m. local time following a flight from William P. Hobby Airport in Houston, Texas, parking at the General Aviation Terminal at 6:15 p.m.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the accident. NTSB spokesperson Stephanie Sulick noted, "We get there as fast and as safely as we can. Just because they're not on scene doesn't mean they're not doing investigative work."

The incident marks the deadliest aviation accident in Maine since 1985.
