United 737 Strikes Deicing Truck at Denver Airport, One Injured

A United Airlines Boeing 737-824 sustained substantial damage after striking a deicing truck at Denver International Airport on March 6, 2026, injuring one contractor employee while all passengers and crew evacuated safely.

Incident Details

The collision occurred around 8:00 AM local time during heavy snow conditions as United Airlines Flight UA605, registered N27213, was preparing for departure to Nashville. The aircraft struck the deicing truck in a non-air traffic control area, toppling the vehicle onto its side.

Passenger and Crew Safety

All 122 passengers and six crew members deplaned safely via airstairs and were transported by bus to the terminal. No injuries were reported among those aboard the aircraft. The deicing truck driver, employed by a contractor, was hospitalized with unknown condition.

Flight Operations Impact

United Airlines dispatched a replacement aircraft to operate the Nashville-bound flight, which departed more than six hours late and arrived at 5:20 PM. The airline confirmed "a de-icing truck made contact with a United aircraft," resulting in the contractor employee's hospitalization.

Investigation Underway

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident. FAA statements indicate "the plane struck the truck," contrasting with United's description of the truck making contact with the aircraft. No final determination of cause has been released.

The Boeing 737-800 is part of United's standard fleet with no prior notable incident history for this particular aircraft.
