AerCap Orders 100 Airbus A320neo Aircraft in Largest Deal to Date
AerCap Places Record Order for 100 A320neo Aircraft
Aircraft lessor AerCap signed a firm order for 100 Airbus A320neo family aircraft on March 18, marking the company's largest single direct order for the aircraft type. The portfolio consists of 23 A320neos and 77 A321neos, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2028 and continue through 2034.
The transaction includes long-term leases for 48 CFM LEAP-1A engines secured through AerCap's Shannon Engine Support joint venture with Safran Aircraft Engines. CEO Aengus Kelly said the order reflects strong belief in long-term demand while enabling partner Frontier Airlines to optimize its fleet.
This deal underscores industry confidence as Airbus faces competition from Boeing, which regained the annual new order lead in 2025. The A320neo family has won over 19,000 orders globally and offers at least 20% fuel savings compared to previous-generation single-aisle aircraft.
