Embraer Reports Record $32.1B Backlog Driven by Finnair E195-E2 Order
Embraer announced April 28 that its total backlog reached a record $32.1 billion in the first quarter of 2026, marking the sixth consecutive all-time high. The figure represents a 22% year-over-year increase, reflecting robust demand in the aerospace sector as supply-chain constraints ease.
The commercial aviation backlog specifically grew to $15.0 billion, a 50% rise year-over-year. This surge was driven largely by Finnair's order for up to 46 E195-E2 aircraft, including firm orders, options, and purchase rights. Company deliveries also saw significant gains, with 44 aircraft delivered across all units, a 47% increase from the 30 units delivered in the same period last year.
Beyond commercial jets, the executive aviation backlog remained stable at $7.6 billion, while defense and security and services segments stood at $4.4 billion and $5.1 billion, respectively. Industry analysts view the record backlog as a positive indicator of the company's competitive edge in the regional market and its ability to scale production amid sustained global demand.
