Iberia has introduced Starlink Wi-Fi to its fleet, with the first equipped passenger aircraft departing Madrid-Barajas for São Paulo, Brazil, on June 24, 2026. The inaugural flight operated under registration EC-MAA, marking the start of a major connectivity upgrade for the Spanish flag carrier.

The service provides free, high-speed internet across all cabins — Economy, Premium Economy, and Business — leveraging SpaceX's low-Earth-orbit (LEO) satellite constellation to deliver download speeds of up to 500 Mbps. The system supports high-bandwidth activities including video conferencing, streaming, and gaming, and is available gate-to-gate for a seamless passenger experience.

Fleet-Wide Rollout

The launch is part of a broader initiative by parent group IAG to equip more than 500 aircraft across its brands, including British Airways and Vueling, with the rollout expected to be completed within two years. Iberia's satellite internet upgrade will eventually encompass its full Airbus mainline fleet, including the A320 family, A330, and A350. Industry analysts note that offering complimentary high-speed access positions Iberia as a leader in the European market and advances the airline's "Flight Plan 2030" digital transformation strategy.
