10 Dead After Flamingo Air Cessna 402C Crashes in Bahamas

Ten people died Thursday after a Cessna 402C, registration C6-FLX, operated by Flamingo Air crashed near Nicholls Town on North Andros, Bahamas. The aircraft was traveling from Nassau to San Andros when it encountered difficulties and went down in brush before reaching its destination, according to Bahamian officials cited by local news outlets.

One person was initially pulled alive from the wreckage but later succumbed to severe injuries, bringing the death toll to 10. The Bahamas Musicians and Entertainers Union confirmed that five members of the Da Pond Band were among those killed.

Operational Suspension

In the wake of the accident, the Bahamian government temporarily suspended Flamingo Air's air operator certificate as a precautionary measure pending investigation. The NTSB has logged the event under case ID 20260711203372. The Cessna 402C is a light twin-engine aircraft widely used for short-haul commuter services throughout the Caribbean.
