NTSB Investigates Fatal Mooney M20J Crash Near Woodlake, California
A single-engine Mooney M20J, registration N4452H, crashed and caught fire in a rural area near Woodlake, California, on May 23, killing the pilot. The accident occurred shortly before 11 a.m. in the vicinity of Road 204 and Avenue 336, according to reports from The Fresno Bee and FOX26.
According to the National Transportation Safety Board, the aircraft had departed from Woodlake Airport and was attempting to return to the airfield when it went down. Emergency responders from the Tulare County Sheriff's Office and the California Highway Patrol established a perimeter and closed several intersections to facilitate the recovery and investigation.
