NTSB Probes Boeing PT-17 Incident Near Waco With Substantial Damage
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating an incident involving a Boeing A75N1(PT17), registration N55732, that occurred near Waco, Texas, on May 9. According to preliminary NTSB data, the aircraft was conducting a personal flight under Part 91 general aviation regulations at approximately 3 p.m. local time.
Preliminary reports indicate one person was aboard the aircraft at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported, though the NTSB classified the aircraft damage as substantial.
The Boeing-Stearman PT-17 is a vintage primary trainer originally used for military pilot training. The NTSB has not yet released details regarding the cause of the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
