NTSB Probes Flight Design CTSW Hard Landing in Texas
SEGUIN, Texas — The National Transportation Safety Board has launched an investigation into a hard landing involving a Flight Design CTSW near Seguin, Texas. The accident occurred on April 6, 2026, resulting in substantial damage to the aircraft.
Both occupants aboard the privately operated N249CT were uninjured following the incident. The pilot was conducting touch-and-go maneuvers when the right main landing gear detached during impact, according to initial reports. Ground personnel observed the damage and alerted the pilot via common traffic advisory frequency before the aircraft came to a stop.
The NTSB has assigned the incident event ID 20260407202771 and will conduct a full investigation. No fires or explosions were reported at the scene. The board will release a final report upon completion of its investigation into the cause of the landing gear failure.
