Fatal Skydiving Collision at Perris Leaves One Dead, One Critical

Fatal Skydiving Incident in Riverside County
PERRIS, Calif. — A midair collision during a skydiving jump at Skydive Perris left one person dead and another critically injured on May 28. The incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. near the 600 block of East Ellis Avenue in Perris, Riverside County.
Skydive Perris manager Dan Brodsky-Chenfeld said all three skydivers were experienced jumpers traveling from overseas. Preliminary reports indicate two of the friends collided during freefall, though all parachutes deployed successfully before landing. Riverside County Sheriff's deputies found the deceased on the east side of Interstate 215, while the injured skydiver was located on the west side.
Riverside County Fire Department responders transported the critical patient to a hospital. Authorities confirmed no signs of foul play and launched a full investigation. Skydive Perris management expressed deep sympathy for the victims and their families. The tragedy follows a 2024 incident at the same drop zone where a dust devil contributed to fatal injuries for an instructor and student.
