A Gulfstream G200 business jet crashed at La Romana International Airport (LRM) in the Dominican Republic on June 7, 2026, killing both pilots. The Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) confirmed there were no passengers aboard the aircraft.

Dramatic footage circulating on social media shows the aircraft striking the runway with extreme force, causing the main landing gear to collapse before the jet burst into flames. Early reports indicate the crew had declared an emergency due to severe mechanical problems shortly after takeoff and were attempting an emergency landing when the crash occurred.

IDAC has launched an official investigation to determine the cause. While video evidence suggests a violent impact and subsequent landing gear failure, official technical reports regarding the mechanical failure have not been released. Neither Gulfstream Aerospace nor the aircraft's operator has issued a detailed statement. The incident follows other high-profile business jet accidents in the region, including a 2021 Gulfstream G-IVSP crash near Santo Domingo that investigators attributed to a fatal maintenance error.
