PILOT-IN-COMMAND'S DECISION TO INITIATE A FLIGHT WITH KNOWN DEFICIENCIES IN HIS EQUIPMENT IN THAT HIS AIRSPEED INDICATOR WAS INOPERATIVE. HE THEN FAILED TO MAINTAIN AIRSPEED IN A TURN ON FINAL APPROACH, STALLED, AND CRASHED.
