Analysis

On September 23, 2005, at 1150 eastern daylight time, a Cessna 172P, N99137, was substantially damaged during landing at the Freeway Airport (W00), Mitchellville, Maryland. The certificated private pilot was not injured. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and a visual meteorological flight rules flight plan was filed for the local personal flight conducted under 14 CFR Part 91.

According to the pilot, while practicing touch and go landings on runway 36, the airplane drifted off the left side of the runway and then impacted two parked aircraft.

The pilot reported no mechanical deficiencies with the airplane. He also reported 181 hours of total flight experience, all of which were in make and model of the accident airplane.
