Analysis

On June 17, 2006, about 1120 mountain daylight time, a Schweizer G-164B agricultural airplane, N3632T, sustained substantial damage when it nosed over during the landing roll at a private airstrip near Murtaugh, Idaho. The commercial pilot, the sole occupant, was not injured. The airplane was registered to and operated by Ken Spray LLC of Twin Falls, Idaho. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and no flight plan was filed for the local agricultural application flight conducted under 14 CFR Part 137.

The pilot reported that he touched down approximately one quarter of the way down the airstrip. He stated that "everything was normal and in a matter of a split second, the aircraft was upside down." He further stated that he felt "applying too much braking and the fact that [the airplane] has a high center of gravity may have contributed to the accident."
