Analysis
On August 26, 2008 at 1745 eastern time, a Boeing 747-436, registration F-GITC, s/n 25344 operated by Air France as flight 346 from Paris, France exited runway 24R after landing at Montreal Pierre Trudeau International Airport. According to TSB-Canada, during the rollout and approaching B2 taxiway the nose gear deflected to the right. The crew applied maximum braking and the aircraft stopped with the nose gear on the grass about 26 feet on the right hand side of the runway. The main gear remained on the runway. There were no injuries and passengers were deplaned using passenger transfer vehicles. No evidence of damage was noted on the aircraft.
