Analysis
On September 9, 2008, about 1820 Chilean local time, a Cessna 172R, Chilean registry CC-KAZ, operated by Club Aereo de Los Andes, was substantially damaged when it impacted mountainous terrain near El Trebolar, Valparaiso Region, Chile. The Chilean certificated private pilot and two passengers were fatally injured. Weather conditions at the time were unknown. The flight was operating between Santo Domingo Airport (SCSN), Santo Domingo, Valparaiso Region, and San Rafael Airport (SCAN), Los Andes, Valparaiso Region, under Chilean flight regulations.
