Analysis
While performing a touch-and-go landing to runway 18, a 6,508 foot long by 150 foot wide runway, the airplane encountered a crosswind. The private pilot lost control of the airplane and the airplane departed the side of the runway. The airplane's left wing collided with a runway distance remaining marker resulting in substantial damaged to the leading edge of the wing. The pilot did not report any known malfunction or mechanical failure prior to the impact. The airport's weather reporting station reported winds from 070 degrees at 8 knots.
