On May 21, 2010, about 1737 universal coordinated time, a Cessna 182F, Venezuelan registration YV158E, operated by Corona's Pilot Escuela de Aviacion, was destroyed after it impacted an electrical cable during a training flight in Rio Negro, Estado Bolivar, Venezuela. The flight instructor and a trainee were killed. The local instructional flight was operated under Venezuelan flight regulations, and had departed from General Manuel Carlos Piar International Airport (SVPR), Estado Bolivar, Venezuela.
