Analysis
The Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority (ACAA) has notified the NTSB of an accident involving an MD-80 that occurred on January 24, 2012. The ACAA delegated the investigation to the Spanish Comisión de Investigación de Accidentes e Incidentes de Aviación Civil (CIAIAC). The NTSB has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the CIAIAC investigation under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13 as the State of Manufacturer and Design of the airplane.
All investigative information will be released by the CIAIAC.
