Analysis

On June 4, 2012, at 1200 universal coordinated time, a Cessna 182Q, VH-CWQ, was reported missing and subsequently located near Coonabarabran, Australia. The aircraft was registered to and operated by a private individual under the pertinent civil regulations of Australia. The pilot, the sole occupant, was fatally injured. The airplane collided with the terrain and was substantially damaged by impact forces and a post accident fire.
